Starting on Sunday, September 10th at 10:30am the Bible Study Group will be meeting in the Rabbi’s Office. This group usually meets every Sunday during the school year, except holidays. Rabbi Aaron Rosenberg and Reverend Cathy Zall of First Congregational Church of Old Lyme are presenting a two-part Interfaith Bible Study on Thursdays, Oct. 5 and 12, at 12:15 PM. Temple Emanu-El will host the first which will focus on the Book of Jonah. The discussion will examine the consequences of fleeing responsibility, the value of forgiveness and the subtle nuances and word plays in the text.
On Oct. 12, the Book of Ecclesiastes will be the topic as the group moves to First Congregational Church in Old Lyme. The discussion will look at the essence of Biblical wisdom as well as the contemporary relevance of Kohelet’s message. Bring a brown bag lunch to both sessions. Beverages will be provided.
Mon., Oct. 1 after Yom Kippur Morning Service. Andy Feinstein will lead a discussion on “Who or What is God?”
