Help Wanted and Contacts Needed For Auction
by John Murphy, Vice President, Fundraising
This year’s Temple Auction will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2006. We will again be doing business ads and personal messages (sizes 1/4, ½ and full page) as part of the Auction Book. These ads and messages helped make last year’s auction the most successful ever.
You can help by sending me names of businesses that the auction team could contact to see if they are interested in sponsoring an ad. Businesses can be anyone that you do business with or are planning to do business with in the future. For example: your favorite restaurant, a favorite store, your doctor or dentist, hairdresser, carpenter, car salesman and anyone else you can think of – if you aren’t sure – contact me.
Remember I am not asking you to contact them, all I am asking is that you send me their contact information: Business name, address, phone number and suggested contact. You can email that to me at johnemurphy@myeastern.com or mail it to me at 17 Green Valley Lakes Road, East Lyme, CT 06333 or give me a call on my cell phone at 860-608-0774.
In addition, we are always looking for goods and services for the auction. Suggested ideas include: Personal touch items like home cooked gourmet meals in your home, vacation property for a weekend or a week, time shares that you are not using, unused airline tickets, unused sporting tickets, hand crafted items, new merchandise and other unique goods and services.
Finally, I am looking for people who have computer skills including Microsoft Access database development and programming”, computer and design skills to help with putting part of the auction online, and finally people who can help write letters and follow up with businesses for ads and items.
