September Message

The past months have just flown by! And what a summer it has been… amazing stretches of heat: both with the local weather and on the world stage. War rages on so many fronts. Yet as Jews we, by our very nature, draw together to support each other in our times of need whether on a personal, national or international level.

On a personal level, our congregation mobilizes to help in time of need and I would like to thank everyone for your support when my mother passed away. I have felt supported so many times since I have been a member of the temple, yet it never ceases to amaze me how it simply happens. People just seem to be there when we need them most. It’s not just in sadness. How many times do we find people pitching in or coming forward to help out wherever and whenever there is a need? at the soup kitchen, in the gardens, for fundraising, tutoring students, teaching classes in the religious school, painting, building, cleaning up, setting up, or breaking things down?

On a national and international level we come together to support, debate, and understand. Separately and together we pray for our nation and we pray for our leaders to have the wisdom and strength to do the “right thing,” in supporting Israel.

Ken
