The preschool is open to all 3 and 4 year olds (must be potty trained) and meets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the Kindergarten room. There is no better eye opener to the fact that
Summer is
about to end as when I receive the memo from the Temple that our
September
Bulletin article is due in the office. It seems such a short time ago
that we
had our closing session for the season and honored our Faculty, said
farewell
to our Emissary Ya ara Hendle and wished our 8th graders good luck as
they
leave us for the Jewish Community High School.
The date September 10, posted on the Religious
School
bulletin Board is no longer months a way, but rather just a week or so.
You
should by this time have received a bill for book orders as well as the
new
Religious School Calendar. If you have children in the school and have
not
received these items please, check to see whether you have mailed in
your School
Registration Forms and tuition, as well as your Temple pledge and dues
agreement, or were here on August 29th for our in school Registration
and took
care of those obligations at that time. Once those were done you should
have
received your calendar and school books bill in the mail.
If you have not, it is not too late to get those
items
taken care of prior to the opening morning of school. It would be much
easier
for the Temple Office as well as the school office to have this all
done ahead
of time. This will help make our opening day a smooth one for you, your
child/children and the school. There is lots of activity that first
morning. I’ve
been told that this year there will be some activities planned by the
Brotherhood and Sisterhood that morning. It would simplify things if we
didn't
have to register whole bunches of children, when there have been many
options
for doing this before the first day of school. Registrations are not
coming in
as fast as we had anticipated, so please get it in and save us from
having to
make personal calls to each family.
Should you have any questions regarding
registration please
contact the Religious School phone 860-439-0406 and if no one answers,
please
leave a message and we'll return your call just as soon as we can.
There should
be someone in the Religious School office parts of most days during the
next
few weeks prior to the start of Religious School.
Does anyone know of any Jewish families who have
children
not going to Religious School, especially young children? Please let us
know,
or speak to them about our Temple and Religious School. Our younger
classes are
small and we are hoping to be able to increase our enrollment.
Our staff has met and we are excited to begin
our year. It
is always fun to begin the year and have new students and new
challenges. The
school has been freshly cleaned, some new books ordered, new displays
on our
bulletin boards, a new Emissary to great and welcome as well as some
new
Faculty Assistants. Now we are ready to go and anticipate a
wonderful
school year.
We'll see you on September 10th promptly at 9:30
AM for the
beginning of another exciting year of Religious School and on Wednesday
September 13th promptly at 4:30 for the start of Midweek Hebrew. For
those of
you who have not begun school and your fall activities yet, enjoy your
last
week of the summer and for all your last free weekend for a while.
